| ALGONQUIN CLUB AFFILIATE DINING MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM
WCAB recently entered an affiliation agreement with the Algonquin Club to offer our dues paying members in good standing the opportunity to become affiliate dining members of the club, should they so choose. The Algonquin Club, located at 217 Commonwealth Ave., is a 124-year old McKim, Mead & White designed clubhouse with a food and beverage service operation. As of June 2010, other alumna/ae clubs participating include: Georgetown, Brown, Yale, and Princeton with others expected to follow soon.
Benefits to WCAB Members: More Information and Key Documents Should you need additional information, please contact Jamie Scarborough '87 at presidents@wellesleyboston.org. Authors on Stage From its opening program in 1981, patterning itself on the beloved but defunct Hathaway House book series with bibliophile Robert Hale moderating, WCAB’s Authors on Stage has kept book lovers stuffing the reservations mailbox and buying first edition volumes. The popular benefit has showcased more than 150 writers, ranging from best-selling superstars — Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, and Robin Cook — to literary standouts — Sue Miller, Tracy Kidder, and the late Stephen Jay Gould. Held twice-yearly at the College Club, Authors on Stage marks its silver anniversary with donations to the library topping $100,000. For questions and further information please email aos@wellesleyboston.org and check out the Authors on Stage webpage! Career Dinner Series A monthly gathering of alumnae who enjoy great food and conversation, and an unwavering passion for women's ability to reach their dreams. Each event is informal and inspiring. Over dinner, our speaker tells us about his/her personal career journey. The emphasis is on conversation and conviviality, forging new friendships, and providing networking support for each other and in our working lives. Past events have explored: negotiation, freelance writing, publishing, managing restaurants, being a museum curator, fundraising, and landscape architecture to name a few! Please contact Lizzie Bell '03 at careerdinners@wellesleyboston.org to join the E-vite invitation list, volunteer, offer an event space, or with an event idea.
